The Voice of Medicine in Cincinnati

The Voice for Quality Health Care

The Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati, founded in 1857, is a not-for-profit, professional association for physicians who practice or live in Hamilton County, Ohio. The mission of the Academy of Medicine is to advocate on issues affecting physicians’ ability to practice in an environment that fosters the highest quality medicine possible. The Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati is the voice for access to and the provision of quality health care in our community.

The Academy is lead by Council members who are elected by the general membership and is governed by a set of established bylaws.

The Academy offers several membership options, and therefore, also serves physicians and others in the health care field in surrounding geographic areas. As a component of the federation of medicine, the Academy is affiliated at the state level with the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) and at the national level with the American Medical Association (AMA).
