Constitution & Bylaws
Periodically reviews the Academy’s Articles of Incorporation and Code of Regulations.

Emergency & Disaster Services (EDS)
Southwestern Ohio Prehospital Care Operations Committee (PHCOC)

Concerned with emergency medical services in the community and develops and monitors protocols for the delivery of pre-hospital care.

Joint Academy of Medicine/Cincinnati Bar Association
Works on issues of mutual interest or conflict between the two professions.

Reviews complaints filed by patients against physicians and by physician members of the Academy.

Monitors legislation which could effect the medical profession.

Medical Liability Support Committee
Helps physicians and their families cope with the emotional trauma of the medical malpractice experience.

Project Access
Project Access is a new program being implemented by the Academy of Medicine which will coordinate are physicians' delivery of charity care, giving the uninsured, working poor coordinated access to charitable health care services.

Travel and Special Events
Plans and coordinates travel activities and special events for Academy members.

Community Involvement

The Academy of Medicine is involved in several community projects. Not only did the Academy help establish many of these initiatives, but it also holds board positions within several of the health organizations. Here is a partial list:

Academy members are appointed to sit on these and other significant health care related entities serving the Greater Cincinnati area:

Chamber of Commerce
The Academy of Medicine is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and has joined many other business and community interests in supporting the regional development effort, Partnership for Greater Cincinnati.

Special Olympics
Academy members volunteer to assist during the Track & Field events of the Special Olympics.
