2025 was hard. Here’s what gives us hope.

Reflecting on 2025

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’
— Fred Rogers

For many physicians, 2025 was not an easy year. The pressures on healthcare grew heavier, the noise louder, and the space to speak or lead often felt smaller. And yet, when we looked closely, we saw the helpers — again and again.

This year, the Academy is deeply grateful for:

And finally, we are deeply grateful for all area physicians, who tirelessly give their all and more to their patients. This job is hard. We see you. We appreciate you. You are not alone.

Looking ahead to 2026, we carry this momentum with us. The challenges are real, but so is the resolve. With your continued engagement, the Academy will keep doing what it has always done best: bringing physicians together, protecting our voice, and serving our community with integrity and purpose.

With my greatest admiration and thanks, I wish you all the best for the coming year.
