| Following our March election, The Academy of Medicine is pleased to announce Joseph Cheng, MD, MS as President-Elect 2023-2024. Dr. Cheng's role as President-Elect will officially commence following the Annual Meeting on May 4th, where he will be inducted alongside 2023-2024 Academy President Barry Brook, MD.
A Message from Joseph Cheng, MD, MS
The Academy of Medicine has such a strong foundation and historical reputation in Cincinnati, and I am humbled with this opportunity as the President to build on our legacy as a regionally recognized society focused on physician and patient advocacy and promoting value-based care. I am excited to contribute back to our medical community in Cincinnati, which I have been proud to be a part of for many years. We are facing many challenges in healthcare that demand us to be vigilant in fostering optimal patient care while remaining a good financial steward for our patients and physicians. I look forward to continuing our Academy’s work in developing resources to help our members ensure a healthy practice with a deeper understanding of the effects of reimbursement policies and costs on our ability to care for our patients. I hope our physician members will work with me to look past the local competitiveness, to work in collaboration for our mutual goals of ensuring quality patient care, physician wellness and autonomy, and appropriate reimbursement to sustain our practices. I look forward to leading our Academy in supporting our physicians and their high-quality medical care in Cincinnati, which is second to none.

| In March, the Academy of Medicine Council approved revisions to the structure and aims of previously existing Committees, with the addition of a newly formed committee, the Community Outreach Committee.
